4 Exciting Book Adaptations I Can’t Wait To Watch

I don’t know about anyone else but I really love book adaptations. There have been many flops but also many successes and I hope to see more in the future. As a rule – I cannot watch the adaptation until I’ve read the book. I know some people are the other way around but for me it’s not right unless I read the book before.

I feel like more and more books are now getting a chance to be made into a film or a tv show (especially YA!) and I love it!

Here are 4 of the books I can’t wait to watch..

His Dark Materials by Phillip Pullman.

Release date – TBC.

I actually watched the 2007 film and loved it. I became so obsessed with it I couldn’t sleep unless I had it on in the background. I’m excited to see this series adapted into a tv show – it has so much potential to go in many different directions. As I was researching the release date I found out that they’ve already reviewed it for a second season!

Legend by Marie Lu.

Release date – currently in pre production.

I know that there’s been a lot of messing about with this adaptation. But the author of the book posted on her twitter in April that the film is finally getting another shot at being made. When I read this book I remember thinking it would make an awesome film so I’m excited to see what they do with it.

The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath.

Release date – TBD

I’ll admit this wasn’t my favourite book in the entire world. I enjoyed the story and the characters even if it was a bit slow in parts, so I’m really excited to see it brought to life on the screen.

Pet Sematary by Stephen King.

Release date – 2019.

I included the 1989 film on my Top Horror Films That Really Scared Me. I’m excited to see how this new adaptation pans out. It’ll have to be damn good to scare me as much as the first one did.

What book adaptations are you looking forward to?
